Nature bathing, inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-yoku, immerses you in the sights, sounds, and scents of the natural environment, providing a powerful antidote to the stress and busyness of modern life. The natural environment promotes mindfulness and a sense of calm, helping you to reconnect with yourself and the world around you. By engaging all your senses, nature bathing fosters a deep state of relaxation and mental clarity, making it an ideal way to unwind and rejuvenate.

Why We Offer Nature Bathing at The Alfresco Spa

At The Alfresco Spa, we believe in the profound healing power of nature. Our nature bathing sessions, inspired by Shinrin-yoku, are designed to help you disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the natural one. 

Hosted by mindfulness coach and yoga teacher Lauren Bennet, these two-hour sessions guide you through mindfulness practices inspired by nature and connection to the outside world. You’ll be invited to immerse yourself in nature, reconnect with the soil and leaves, and even try earthing (walking barefoot). After a soothing hour in the serene beauty of our surrounding woodlands, we conclude with a reflective time in our sauna. Bring a journal to capture your thoughts and reflections as you bask in the warmth and tranquility, melting away the stresses of the week. Join us for this harmonious blend of nature therapy and sauna wellness, and discover a deeper sense of well-being.

What to bring

Yoga mat or blanket to sit on

Warm clothes (just in case)
